FRP COMPOSITE FENDER SYSTEMS
Fiberglass Marine Fender Systems & Bridge Protection
Fender systems using FPR composite structural elements are the ideal solution for waterway protection systems and ferry terminal guide walls required to withstand high energy impacts from both barges and ships. The enabling technology are StormStrong fiberglass pipe piles that come in a wide range of sizes. The FRP piles offer the strength of steel, but a much lower bending stiffness (EI) which allows for far greater energy absorption than traditional materials. Unlike rigid concrete and steel fender systems, the FRP system is designed to deflect and then recover, without damaging either the vessel or the fender.
FRP FENDERS HAVE SUPERIOR ENERGY ABSORPTION & LOW ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT
Using an engineered material with FRP performance, the fender system can be designed with fewer piles at wider spacing. This significantly reduces construction costs and results in fender systems with both lower acquisition costs and longer life than steel, concrete and wood systems.
FRP WATERFRONT PRODUCTS INCLUDE:
- Pipe Piles — In a Wide Range of Sizes
