James Ranch Bridge

An existing steel truss bridge with rotting wood decking was rehabilitated using FRP decking to eliminate future maintenance. With a stringer spacing of only 30 inches, a 2.5” deck was used to match the existing wood timbers. Weight was 8.2 psf. The bridge length of 142 feet meant only six panels were needed at 23.6 feet each. Panel width was 9.75 feet. The deck was installed in one day. Brown quartz non-slip overlay was used for safety and to blend with the park surroundings.
