TuffSpan™ Insulated Composite Panels Meet Industrial Market Demand for Corrosion Resistant, Safe, Energy Efficient, Labor-Saving Insulated Panel
Efficiencies gained through quicker installation reduced downtime, and help to combat skilled trade labor shortages
ALUM BANK, Pennsylvania – Enduro Composites, a member of Creative Composites Group, has announced the launch of TuffSpan Insulated Composite Panels (ICP). TuffSpan ICP is the first, industrially oriented, composite-only, prefabricated insulated sandwich panel offering that meets industrial corrosion-resistance needs.
TuffSpan ICPs are comprised of an inner core made of polyisocyanurate, making them rigid rather than compressible. This eliminates sub-girts, reducing required structural fasteners by half. In addition, ICPs are four feet wide, compared to IMP’s nominal three feet, resulting in fewer panels. These features, combined with its lightweight prefabricated tongue-and-groove system, mean TuffSpan ICPs can significantly reduce onsite labor time and duration, often by half.
“We created TuffSpan ICP not just to provide superior insulation but also to assist our clients in addressing current construction labor shortages,” said Flavio Ortiz, Senior Vice President of Sales at Enduro. “Lack of laborers has been surveyed to be the single greatest challenge to our customers in the architecture, engineering and construction industries. TuffSpan ICPs have a modular design geared towards safe, faster installations by fewer laborers.”
In addition to labor savings, TuffSpan ICPs are safer and more efficient. TuffSpan ICPs are currently the only domestically produced panel offered in a halogen-free, highly UV-resistant aliphatic-based resin. Traditional fire-retardant non-metallic composite panels rely on resin additives such as bromines to earn their ASTM E-84 flame-retardant ratings. While these halogens deter flame-spread, they include carcinogens that can be inhaled when fires occur. TuffSpan ICP avoids this safety concern entirely by offering a halogen-free option.
“In both commercial and industrial projects, modular construction is proving advantageous to the market,” said Blake Heger, Vice President of Sales. “TuffSpan ICP offers a modular, corrosion-resistant alternative to heavy IMPs, facilitating industrial buildings to scale up full operations and productivity faster. This, along with its longer service life avoids the heavy costs of maintenance and downtime, which can often be in excess of six figures per day, provides industrial facilities sustainability and long-term profitability.”
Enduro’s TuffSpan products have been tested in-house and by third parties like the Army Corps of Engineers to demonstrate their superior ROI. For more information on Enduro’s ICP building products, visit EnduroComposites.com.
