Overview: Creative Pultrusion’s sister company, Redman Composites, teamed up with Birse Rail to provide an FRP solution to expand their rail platforms. They required a maintenance-free system that could be installed in days, not weeks. Creative and Redman provided a turn-key solution and provided the substructure and deck. The deck and structural profiles were pultruded in the USA, shipped to the UK, and fabricated in Redman’s facility. The East Midlands project was designed to allow easier access to the East Midlands Airport, which serves commuters from Nottingham, Derby, and Leicester, UK. Creative’s deck products are lightweight and arrive with an integrated antiskid system, which meets OSHA and ADA requirements. The decking will not rust, rot, or spall.
