Overview: A prominent open pit mining company in McLeese Lake, British Colombia developed an efficient copper leaching process. A mild sulphuric acid is sprayed over low-grade copper ore and the resulting leachate is collected in a series of dykes and draining ditches, then into holding ponds before processing.
