Overview:The pedestrian overpass on Glendale Avenue experienced severe corrosion of the reinforced concrete deck and steel box girders. An FRP deck was selected because its superior corrosion resistance eliminates future maintenance, the reduced dead load minimized girder rehabilitation, and the lightweight panels were easy to install on a bridge with limited construction space.
