“We were challenged to design a floating dock system which can be removed before the harbor freezes, and reinstalled in the spring with limited local equipment.
With the help of Creative Pultrusions, we successfully were able to design and construct this system. Your thorough efforts working closely with AECOM, and our contractor, Drake Construction (DCI), allowed us, as a team, to develop a pile which was light enough to remove with a small davit, and strong enough to resist the loads from storm surges and high winds which can occur in northwest Alaska. This included a detailed structural analysis of the piling and piling connections by your design team.
The floats were removed this winter without any challenges by DCI. We appreciate your support for the development of this innovative application of FRP piling.”
